Psychologists.
Kristina
Mamrot has
worked with: individuals and couples in the community sector,
children and parents in a school setting, problem gamblers, and the
aged. She has also worked with adults to improve parenting skills,
in post-natal depression recovery groups, and with crisis as a
LifeLine telephone counsellor. Kristina was drawn to the field of
psychology after many years as a registered nurse working in
critical care and midwifery, and retrained as a psychologist while
rearing her children.
Kate
Swann has
worked: in a Family Services agency with individuals, couples,
adolescents and families, in a busy Collins Street psychology
practice, and with acute crisis as both a LifeLine telephone
counsellor and trainer of new counsellors for LifeLine. She has
also developed a Recovery Group Program for Panic Attacks for the
Anxiety Recovery Centre of Victoria (ARCVic). Kate successfully ran
her own business before retraining as a psychologist while raising
her children.
Jenny
Lindros brings
over 20 years experience working with students and their families
in a variety of capacities, to PS Counselling. With a background in
teaching, Jenny has worked as a Psychologist in private
practice counselling
adults, as well as being employed as a Psychologist for the
Education Department, counselling students and their families in
several Melbourne schools. Jenny creates a nurturing environment
for clients to focus on concrete and practical strategies to
facilitate change and improve overall well-being. She has a special
interest in: family therapy, parenting concerns, challenging child
and adolescent behaviours, depression, and anxiety.
Sue
McGregor brings
warmth, motivation, and dedication to her work with her clients at
PS Counselling. With a solid training in counselling children,
adolescents and adults, Sue has practiced as Program Leader and
Psychologist at The Cheshire School for eight years, specialising
in treating students with social, emotional and/or learning
difficulties, while supporting their families. Sue has also
recently returned from Vietnam where she worked with adults and
children suffering from extreme poverty and life threatening
illnesses such as cancer and HIV. Sue’s
areas of interest lie in working with children
and adolescents with social, emotional, or behavioural
difficulties, parenting issues, and adults
suffering from depression, anxiety, or illness.
Cathie
Beven incorporates
her warm non-judgmental manner into her sessions to provide her
clients with a supportive and motivating environment in which to
explore their issues. Cathie focuses on assisting clients to
develop empowerment and facilitate positive change in their lives.
With a broad counselling background, Cathie specialises in working
with clients who are experiencing:
- symptoms
of depression and/or anxiety
- consistent
negative and pervasive perceptions of themselves leading to low
self-esteem and self-confidence, fear and self-doubt
- difficulty
controlling emotions such as anger or impulsivity
- personal
issues such as bereavement, loss, mild substances use or recovery
and other psychological factors
- problems
with home life such as familiar disturbance and
divorce.
Vinita
Costantino brings
her extensive experience in counselling adults, adolescents, and
couples, to her clients at PS Counselling. With her background in
rehabilitation work, and counselling at Relationships Australia,
Vinita fosters a warm, dynamic, and encouraging environment for
treating a wide range of presenting problems. Vinita has a
particular interest in: unresolved family conflict, relationship
issues and couples therapy, depression, anxiety, and pain
management.
Belinda
Brooks has
a broad range of counselling practice experience, and creates a
gentle and responsive therapeutic environment for her clients.
Belinda aims to help her clients to explore and understand their
inner world so that they may become more knowledgeable in how to
overcome concerns that are affecting their life. Belinda’s
background includes working with individual clients struggling with
depression, anxiety disorders, personality disorders, addictive
disorders, relationship and interpersonal issues, identity issues,
and life transitions.
