You
may be able to claim a Medicare rebate of $78 for up to 12
individual sessions each year, if you are referred by your
family Doctor (General Practitioner) or Psychiatrist.
The
procedure to determine if you are eligible to receive a Medicare
Benefits Schedule (MBS) rebate is determined by a GP. To request
sessions under the MBS, you need to see your GP and obtain a
referral to see an accredited psychologist. Once this is
obtained, you can receive a rebate from Medicare on completion of
each session with your psychologist.
